About Charlie

MY STORY

Meet Charlie

I was born on September 9, 1980, in West Point, Mississippi.
Growing up, I was obsessed with wrestling—especially the Memphis territory. Watching Bill Dundee and Jerry Lawler on TV as a kid was, hands down, the greatest thing I’d ever seen in my life.

After high school, I went to the University of Southern Mississippi, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film. That took me to Los Angeles, where I worked in the film industry as an art assistant, production assistant, and writer. I also spent time covering baseball, basketball, and football as a sports writer. In 2015, I moved back to Mississippi and settled in Starkville, where I took over my family’s storage unit business.

In 2018, I started submitting questions to Jim Cornette’s podcast, The Drive-Thru with Jim Cornette, under the name “Charlie from Starkville.” I kept my identity a secret at first, and for a while, there was even speculation that I was a fictional character made up by Cornette’s co-host, Brian Last.

Eventually, I leaned into the character and started building on that identity. In September 2022, I created a Facebook group to help promote my first book. What started small has grown into an active community of more than 3,200 people. In early 2024, as I was preparing to release my second book, I began creating digital content and sharing it in a new Facebook group. A month later, I started posting that content to YouTube as well.

Right now, I’m excited to keep telling stories that connect with people.
